PhD project:

Domestication has a huge impact on the animas, but to which extent is still relatively unclear. Dogs and wolves differ in many things, like social structure and foraging behaviour. Therefore, I study the difference between similarly raised wolves' and dogs' cognitive capabilities at the Domestication Lab in Vienna supervise by Prof. Dr. Friederike Range and Prof. Sarah Marshall-Pescini. Comparing our findings with similar studies on pet dogs and free-ranging dogs we try to get a broader picture of the impact of domestication on wolves and dogs.

Past experiences:

I was born and raised in Croatia and I did my bachelor's and master's in Biology at the University of Zagreb. However, I run the experiment to collect data for my master's in Vienna at the Clever Dog Lab of University of Veterinary Medicine. The topic of my master's was Using machine learning to track dogs' exploratory behaviour in presence and absence of their caregiver. After receiving my master's degree I started my current PhD project at the Domestication lab of the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna

Outside the lab:

In my free-time, I love hiking and spending time in nature in general. I am a scuba diver and enjoy everything sea related. I even have a Divemaster level and spend some time working in a diving centre. I am also a huge board game fan.
