Department of Cognition, Emotion, and Methods in Psychology

■  Nationality: Bulgaria

■  Supervisor: Prof. Claus Lamm

■  Key topics: Climate change and pro-environmental behavior

PhD project:

With my PhD project I investigate how people make pro-environmental decisions, which are the faacators that drive or hinder them, and which brain mechanisms underlie this type of decision-making. By combining functional magnetic resonance imaging, computational modeling and behavioral measures I am to advance our understanding of these highly impactful processes

Past experiences:

After moving to Austria, I did my bachelor's and my master's in Psychology at the University of Vienna. During my studies, I worked as a research assistant, assisting with teaching and data collection for various projects on topics including stress, memory, prosociality and autism-spectrum disorder. My master's thesis was on emotion perception in the canine brain, where we investigated how dogs react to happy and angry human faces.

Outside the lab:

During my free time I like hiking and spending time in nature. And on rainy days I like to watch series or read a book.
